Bird List - 2013 (232 ABA for the year)

This year's new lifers tally is six. There were two that I went after but missed - *heavy sigh*. There is yet a another, the uber rare Little Bunting that I could have had if I'd gone after it, but I stalled and the little rarity flew away. That is a lesson I thought I'd learned when I missed a Taiga Flycatcher several years ago. If I have any resolution for 2014 it is to not allow that kind of miss due to gumption ever again.  Still, the biggest surprises were the Greater Shearwater and the Gray Hawk. The Gray Hawk recently returned to Carpenteria, no longer in juvenile guise. I hope to start 2014 by going down to photograph that beautiful hawk in it's pretty new plumage.
