There are two monuments to the Buffalo Soldiers in Kansas. On our traverse across Kansas, we stopped to visit the one in Junction City, Kansas. As I bring up every chance I get, my paternal grandfather, William's paternal great-grandfather, served in the 23rd Kansas Infantry, 10th Cavalry, Troop D, and he fought in the Spanish American War.
