2016 - Annual Bird List (23 Lifers!)

I haven't experienced such a largess of lifers in a long while. First batch was garnered on my own in South Texas. The second, greater batch were ticked while touring on Larry Manfredi's excellent South Florida Birding Tour. In the end, I saw 23 new species placing me at 658 species for North America. Sadly, I'd expected to see my 649th lifer - Yellow Rail - in Louisiana at a birding festival. Alas, in October and November I was literally under doctor's orders to not fly anywhere. So will be headed into 2017, I am just two new birdies shy of the 650 species milestone.
